FAQ
What is the attire for the DJ?
My attire is a suit and tie white collared shirt. I will also dress for the type of event if requested. My suit selections generally will coordinate with the chosen colors of the bridal party. If it’s a corporate event or theme party, DJ Roy will be dressed to fit in right along with everyone.
Does your service work along with the LGBTIQ Community?
I absolutely do and welcome the opportunity.
How far will you travel to do a wedding or any other type of event?
The DJ Roy Experience is a mobile DJ service. I cover all of the nine bay area counties. I will travel to accommodate your servicing needs based on availability.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I’ve worked with all types of clients from your working class adults to many brides and grooms, to professionals in all areas of corporate and private enterprise, including airline pilots, politicians, entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, just to name a few.
What type of equipment do you use and how do you obtain your music?
The DJ Roy Experience uses an all digital sound system and up to date latest software. The gear is brand names including Pioneer Mixers, QSC, Mackie, and JBL speakers and subwoofers. The wireless microphones are Shure and Sennheiser. All music is legally purchased via digital record pools, Amazon, iTunes and Apple Music. We do not promote or foster any type of illegal recordings that could lead to an event being shut down due to piracy issues. Our equipment is in constant rotation and new equipment is purchased frequently to keep everything fresh and in working order. We always bring back-up equipment.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire you or someone in your business as a DJ?
Never make your decision to hire a deejay based solely on the price. I find that cheap deejays are never great and great deejays are never cheap. Also never assume that the ethnicity of the deejay will mean he will only play one type of music and only know one style of music. I have always exceeded my customer's expectations by providing a variety of musical artists from Frank Sinatra to Coltrane up to the latest in all genres of music based on their preference as well as the guests in attendance.
Do you provide insurance for your events and a written contract?
The DJ Roy Experience is insured with a $2,000,000 General Liability policy for every event performed. Upon request, I will provide the venue with a Certificate of Insurance giving them peace of mind should anything occur. Each client is provided a written contract for my services which outlines the details of our agreement in writing to add comfort and assurance that your DJ will be there as scheduled.
Describe your payment structure?
I require a 50% deposit to secure your date. Once your contract has been established a two week period is allowed for receipt of your signed Musical Agreement and deposit. The balance due is to be submitted at least ten days prior to your event. I will accept all major credit cards, visa, master card. I also accept Apple pay, PayPal, Venmo.
